Position Overview

A Safety Officer is responsible for promoting a safe working environment by implementing occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies throughout the project. The role involves identifying workplace hazards, conducting regular inspections, enforcing safety regulations, and ensuring that all employees follow approved safety procedures. Safety Officers work closely with project managers, engineers, supervisors, and workers to reduce risks, prevent accidents, and maintain full compliance with company and industry safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will conduct daily site safety inspections, identify and report hazards, organize toolbox talks, monitor compliance with HSE procedures, and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Responsibilities also include investigating incidents, maintaining safety records, preparing inspection reports, supporting emergency response activities, and coordinating with project management to implement corrective actions. The Safety Officer will play a critical role in developing a strong safety culture while ensuring all project activities comply with established regulations and client requirements.

Skills and Professional Knowledge

Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Safety Officer and provide experience certificates covering the entire five-year period, with each certificate bearing the official company stamp or seal. A valid NEBOSH Certificate with email verification is mandatory, along with a related Degree or Diploma in Health and Safety or a relevant field. Candidates should possess excellent knowledge of industrial safety standards, hazard identification, risk assessment, accident prevention, and emergency response procedures. Strong communication, leadership, and reporting skills are also essential for this role.
