Safety Officer

Workplace safety is a critical part of every major construction and electrical infrastructure project, where teams may operate around heavy equipment, electrical systems, elevated structures, and other occupational hazards. Experienced Safety Officers help create safer worksites by identifying risks early, monitoring compliance, and supporting workers and supervisors throughout daily operations. A current recruitment opportunity is available in Jeddah for a Safety Officer with NEBOSH certification and a valid driver’s license. Candidates with OHTL project experience or SEC approval will receive priority consideration.

Position Overview

The Safety Officer will be responsible for supporting safe project execution and helping ensure that site activities follow established health and safety procedures. This opportunity is specifically for a non-Aramco project, making the requirement different from vacancies that demand Aramco approval. Candidates familiar with construction or power-related environments can bring valuable practical knowledge to the role, particularly where work involves electrical infrastructure, elevated activities, site vehicles, and multiple contractor teams.

Responsibilities on the Worksite

The selected Safety Officer may be expected to conduct regular site inspections, identify unsafe conditions, and communicate corrective actions to workers and supervisors. Daily responsibilities can include monitoring personal protective equipment usage, observing work practices, assisting with toolbox talks, and checking whether activities are being performed according to approved safety procedures. The officer may also support risk assessments, incident reporting, emergency preparedness, and documentation of safety observations. Strong communication is important because the role requires working with people from different trades while maintaining professional safety standards.

Experience and Candidate Profile

Applicants should have a suitable background in occupational health and safety along with NEBOSH certification and a driver’s license. Experience with OHTL projects—overhead transmission line work—is considered a priority, while candidates holding SEC approval may also receive preference. Practical knowledge of construction-site hazards, safety inspections, PPE requirements, permit procedures, and basic risk-control practices will be useful. The recruitment notice does not state that fresh candidates are eligible, and because relevant project experience is prioritized, experienced Safety Officers are likely to be better suited to this opportunity.
