Job Role Overview & Importance

Safety Officers, Work Permit Receivers (WPR), and Firewatch personnel are essential for maintaining safe working conditions in high-risk industrial environments. These roles ensure that all operations comply with approved safety standards and that hazardous activities are properly monitored.

In Hadeed and similar steel plant environments, safety supervision is critical due to the presence of heavy machinery, hot work activities, and confined space operations. Proper safety coordination helps prevent accidents and ensures smooth project execution.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Safety Officers will be responsible for monitoring site activities, conducting inspections, identifying hazards, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures. They will also review permits, conduct toolbox talks, and maintain safety documentation.

WPR personnel will manage work permits, verify job site readiness, and ensure that all safety conditions are met before work begins. They will coordinate closely with supervisors and safety teams to control operational risks.

Firewatch/Standby Man workers will monitor hot work activities such as welding and cutting to prevent fire hazards. They will ensure fire safety equipment is available and respond immediately in case of emergencies.

All roles require strict attention to safety procedures, communication skills in English, and discipline in industrial environments.

Skills, Experience & Eligibility

Applicants should have relevant safety training and industrial experience. HADEED authorization cards or certifications will be considered an advantage for all positions.

For Safety Officer roles, the profession in Iqama must be Safety Officer or Supervisor. Candidates must also submit updated CVs, training certificates, and valid Saudi documents.

WPR and Firewatch candidates should have strong English communication skills and valid safety training cards. Physical fitness and readiness for industrial site work are required.
